The album arrived early so I was able to listen to one of my favorite artists. Great transaction.
I remember there was a time when I had it in my car and it was consistently in the player. I was very excited for his second album and expected nothing but the best. This album fits the archetype of the sophomore slump to the tea.
I hope his new effort is considerably more thought provoking than this dull, lifeless album. Gavin DeGraw, you should do better than this, especially because there was such a long hiatus between records.
It's sophomoric in tone (no pun intended) and it's simple, dumb lyrics and overused cliches did nothing to showcase the often weak musical accompaniment. I would throw it away, but I'd rather recycle.
I was a pretty big fan of Gavin DeGraw's first CD. I liked his piano based songs (I'm a piano player myself) and he amazing, soulful voice.
I was very dissapointed, and only listened to two songs on the CD a second time.
But I'm sure that was because of the shipping process. The only concern I had was that the CD case came cracked. Maybe it could have been packed better.
Alot of albums have a great title song and the rest of them suck, not on this one. This CD is really enjoyable, each song is as enjoyable as the first. Gavin is a super talent and I can't wait for his next CD.
I love his heartfelt, personal style of songwriting. Gavin DeGraw is so talented. I can listen to this CD over and over again and not get sick of it.
